Center for Constitutional Studies
When you make a gift of any amount to the Foundation Scholarship Fund, it is combined

Center for the Advancement of Leadership
The Center for the Advancement of Leadership trains UVU students to become leaders.
It hosts the Master Mind Lecture Series, the CAL Mentor program, and the L.E.A.D.
Program (Learn, Engage, Acquire, and Discover).

Center for the Study of Ethics
UVU is a national leader in ethics education. The Center for the Study of Ethics promotes
the interdisciplinary study of ethics through a wide range of programs. It brings
prominent speakers to campus for more than 100 events annually and sponsors Ethics
Awareness Week and Environmental Ethics Week.

Construction Management Competition
Each year UVU students routinely finish among the top three at the National Association
of Home Builders Residential Construction Management Competition. The competition
gives students the opportunity to apply skills learned in the classroom to a real
construction project by completing a management proposal.

Culinary Arts Institute
The Culinary Arts Institute at UVU offers premier training in culinary arts through
a blend of theoretical, practical, and real-world educational experiences. The institute
enrolls more than 200 students each year and has an additional 230 students on the
wait list.

Enaged Learning
The University strives for engaged learning experiences to be a part of every UVU
student’s education. UVU’s engaged learning philosophy includes a strong commitment
to meeting the needs of the community, a practice of participatory pedagogy, a strong
vocational focus, and a solid relationship with our sponsoring community.

First-Year Experience
UVU’s robust First-Year Experience program includes Freshman Convocation, which welcomes
students and their families to the UVU community, and the Freshman Reading Program,
which invites students to connect with each other and with President Holland through
a book discussion.

Honors Program
UVU’s Honors Program provides highly motivated students with opportunities to realize
their intellectual potential through challenging academic experiences and prepares
top-performing students for graduate school or advanced careers in business.

Interreligious Studies Programs
Because religion lies at the heart of cultural identity and relationships, the University
is committed to finding ways to facilitate dialogue across religious and related ideological
lines.

Latino Initiative
UVU’s Latino Initiative has dramatically increased Latino student enrollment through
programs such as Prospective Student Services, Freshmen Orientation, Concurrent Enrollment,
scholarships, multicultural activities, and Summer Bridge.

Library
In 2008 the University opened a new library to better serve its rapidly growing student
body. A Utah County landmark, the library is a monument to UVU’s emerging university
status. Its Lakeview Room provides visitors with striking views of Utah Lake and hosts
many of the University’s most exclusive events.

Men’s Soccer
UVU was accepted into the prestigious Western Athletic Conference in 2013. As part
of its migration to the WAC, UVU is adding men’s soccer as a varsity sport.
Rheumatic Rescue Project: Samoa
This international study program takes community health and nursing students to Samoa
to teach elementary school children about strep throat and rheumatic fever and to
work in hospitals and clinics.
Science Equipment Fund
This fund will help equip the science laboratories in the new Science Building that
opened in 2012.
Stephen R. Covey Internship Program
The National Presidential Advisory Board will award this new leadership internship
in Washington, D.C., to UVU’s finest students from any discipline.

Wee Care Center Expansion
UVU’s Wee Care Child Care Center provides child care for low-income students, but
the small center can only accept a limited number of children. In 2013 UVU broke ground
on a major expansion of the Wee Care Center.
Women’s Success Center
The Women’s Success Center aims to increase the number of women who enter UVU and
complete degrees or certificates through programs such as academic support, scholarships,
advocacy, and personal development.
